Senate Petition

Australians for a fair Finance Industry

To the Honourable President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:

The petition of the undersigned shows:

  1. That we support rebuilding trust and confidence in the Finance Industry.
  2. That we believe removing individuals who have broken the law from the Finance Industry is part of rebuilding trust and confidence in the industry.
  3. That a fair, government regulated register of finance workers who have breached applicable laws is the only way to ensure that the right people are removed from the industry for the right reasons.
  4. That the employers who have led the breakdown in trust and confidence in the Finance Industry should not manage, own or operate any process that undermines a fair government register as it will not restore the trust and confidence the Finance Industry needs.

Your petitioners ask the Senate:

To develop or extend a current, relevant register of finance workers found guilty of breaching applicable laws. This register is to be maintained by a government regulator and principles of natural justice and procedural fairness must apply.

I believe the protocol set up by judgement from employers will be unfair. Employees will suffer from unfair judgment and stopping them to get job somewhere else. It should be stopped or have independent registration department to assess the matter.

THE REGISTER SHOULD BE MAINTAINED BY AN INDEPENDENT REGULATED DEPARTMENT AND SHOULD BE VERY FAIR AND TRANSPERANT

Sales are the main focus at meeting daily. Customers are sick of being asked by staff. Doing our jobs as customer services are not enough now cause we are also the sales and call centre!!! Stress to come to work now which is very sad that work just for the pay not enjoying it anymore!!! The culture of being Banks are so different, what happen to the good old days!!!

I am continually being made feel like I am not doing a good job if sales are not made. We – staff – never receive any feedback in relation to providing good, efficient customer service. At the end of every shift – I find myself feeling like I have not done a good job – if I have no or a low number of sales/ leads on the board. I feel this way regardless of how many customers I have helped, guided, genuinely listened to their concerns and “fixed” their problem. I feel no job satisfaction – unless I have made sales – because this is all management really focus on and care about. THANK YOU to the FSU !
